Dear Friends:
Last year I had the great privilege of being appointed Yuba County Supervisor for District 1. This seat was left vacant by then Supervisor Dan Logue upon his successful run for State Assembly – 3rd District.
When I was appointed Supervisor from a field of 5 candidates, I was told that I was appointed because I had a realistic appraisal of Linda as a community and a positive vision of what was needed, the practical experience, enthusiasm and drive to make it happen. My first goal was to change the face and attitude of Linda. This past year and half has been remarkable and our district has seen some amazing progress:
· The removal of 231 tons of garbage through the efforts of 2 community clean-ups sponsored by Recology Yuba-Sutter and made possible by the efforts of many volunteers
· The first ever Skate Park in Linda at Friendship Park
· Town hall meetings organized by Pathways on Drugs and Gangs
· Completion of the Linda Business Directory highlighting 160 businesses
The community has changed…for the good. There is a noticeable difference on Grand Ave., Linda Ave., and Riverside Ave. Businesses are again taking pride in their community. Imagine what can be possible in the next 4 years!
